3:45AM phone call...
I am back to subbing at random schools, within the same district, at various Special Education levels, and my most recent gig (which is this very morning), begins at 5:45AM. The last time I had to be up this early for a gig I had to be on the school-bus to pick-up the students. On top of that, I had to use a metal detector with each student who got on the bus. Make your presumptions about that...

Inclusion.
Inclusion is more than that word that gets tossed around in the Special Education field like a wobbly soccer ball: it is a word that can be used, sometimes people do not want to use is, but will use it if necessary.
Simply, it means to include…include our students with different learning and physical abilities with the rest of the school. My Special Education students, like any other...

The life of a substitute.
I went into this position as a substitute Special Education Instructional Assistant knowing that I will not be assigned to one location for too long. When I entered my current subbing position I was not only thankful for the regular incoming paycheck, more importantly I am thankful to have been given such a rewarding opportunity.
